My RSA project concepts.

According to the brief, I musts come up with a plan to create a service that can enhance the mental wellbeing of the people in the UK without directly targeting people with official depression.

I have two plans...

Both plans revolve around the concept of having a park. This park all be different from existing ones in a sense that they allow people the chance to interact and have fun more.

These are the ideas I gathered to incorporate in my design solution

  1. Guest speakers
  2. Poets
  3. Musicians
  4. Voluntary performances (people can volunteer to perform music, speeches or as such)
  5. Restaurants/Cafe (healthy food)
  6. Gift shop (souvenirs/ cards and as such)
  7. Supply shop (supply people with facilities needed for art and other activities)
  8. Painting
  9. Writing (writing anything! motivational stories? maybe we can have them posted around the park artistically)
  10. Drawing
  11. Performance art
  12. Dancing
  13. Yoga
  14. Aerobics
  15. Skating areas
  16. Bmx area?
  17. Technical equipments store
  18. Animals
  19. Children playing area
  20. Suggestion forum
  21. Botany activities (the park will accept volunteers plant the area)
  22. Pathway convenient for everyone including those on wheel chairs
  23. Occasional fairs (Christmas, cancer awareness, charities, Thanksgiving...)
  24. Games for adults (Chess; adults can interact wit each other and make friend by carrying out chess tournaments)
  25. Easy-on-the-eye environmental designs!!! that one just popped out now...
  26. The 'My Story' section. People who have experience (probably in depression?) and want to share their story with people by means other than speaking, design poles can be created and posted around the park to mark down their stories. Maybe near the benches where people can rest?

This park can be created in two ways

  1. I set up a company that curates the facilities and events for the existing parks.
  2. Create a company that sets the park along with all of the events and activities.

Either way....the elements remain the same.

This is how my sketch book looks like when I just throw my ideas onto paper.

The ideas will always be posted on my blog....but this image below is a simplified digital version of my concepts.

I categorized them and tried to use a simply layout.

I always enjoy writing my ideas down in my sketch book, I get the feeling that it is more raw and richer with thoughts...but hey! It won't hurt doing both.
